In their own words

Restaurant Management Software has never been so easy

Where they are strong, and where they beat us

  • TheFork does something we do not do at all: it is a marketplace that puts your restaurant in front of diners who have never heard of you. Nothing in aimaitred brings you a new customer.
  • Their reservations product is deeper than ours, including AI no-show prediction, reconfirmation by SMS, and reputation management.
  • They do have a QR menu, and it is free with the plan. It shows a PDF or a link, so it is a menu to read rather than a menu to order from, but claiming they have no QR menu would be wrong.
  • They do have payment at the table. TheFork Pay is named on their pricing page as free.
  • American Express announced a proposed acquisition of TheFork from Tripadvisor for $700 million on 15 June 2026. The deal is still subject to consultation and regulatory approval and has not closed, so treat anything you read about Amex ownership as not yet true.

Bringing you new dinersYes. This is the part of their business we have no answer to: a consumer marketplace with its own audience.No. We do not send you customers. Everything we do starts once someone is already at your table or already looking at your page.
The menu the guest readsA QR code menu, free with the plan, showing an uploaded PDF or a link to a menu that is already online. Their own guide describes it as a digital version of the menu to read. Not a PDF. Dishes play like reels, full screen with sound on tap, in 25 auto-detected languages, with allergens that are never machine-translated and dietary filters that exclude a dish when in doubt.
Ordering from the tableNot in their published feature set. Their QR menu is for reading.Ordering from the table, straight to the kitchen display, with guest-driven bill splitting in five modes and tipping.
PaymentTheFork Pay, a table payment product, named on their pricing page as free.Card payment through your OWN Redsys terminal, so you are the merchant and the money goes from the guest straight to your account. We never hold it and take 0% of it.
Kitchen, bar and floorNo kitchen display, bar queue or runner station in their published feature set. They do have a smart floorplan, for the reservation book.Kitchen display, bar queue, bar tabs, runner station, floor map with a drag-and-drop editor, and a waiter feed with call alerts.
Back of houseNo suppliers, stock, recipe costing, day close or staff scheduling in their published feature set.Suppliers and reorder, stock and recipe costing, AI extraction of a photographed supplier invoice, day close with a Z report, menu profit engineering, and staff scheduling with clock-in and timesheets.
PriceNot published. Both plans on their pricing page say "Ask for pricing", so we cannot tell you what it costs and neither can they without a call.Every price is on the pricing page. Starter £14.99 a month, Operations £49, Pro £99, each with a capped per-order fee, no setup fee and no call required.

Claims about the other product come from these pages. Where a fact is no longer published on their site, we say so and date it rather than stating it in the present tense.

Do not take our word for it

Paste this into ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude or any assistant that can browse. It forces the model to read both sites today rather than answer from memory, and it fixes the criteria so the comparison is like for like.

Copy it, paste it, and read what comes back.

I own a restaurant. Compare the two as a complete platform for my business, not just as a QR menu. For each one, state whether it has the capability and quote the exact sentence from the site that proves it:

dish video in the menu, guests sharing a dish to social media, ordering from the table, guest-driven bill splitting, card payment from the phone and who receives the money, per-order commission, kitchen display, bar queue, floor map, reservations with deposits, staff scheduling and clock-in, suppliers and stock costing, day-close Z report, per-dish profitability, guest CRM, loyalty, allergen compliance with EU 1169/2011, number of languages and whether allergens are machine-translated, white-label, and the real monthly price.

Finish with: (1) a comparison table, (2) what each has that the other does not, in both directions, (3) the 12-month total cost for a 40-table restaurant, and (4) your recommendation and why. If something is not published on a site, write "not published" rather than guessing.
