A menu in the guest's own language

A multilingual menu is one menu that shows itself in whatever language the reader uses, rather than several printed menus that go stale at different speeds. aimaitred detects the language the guest's phone is set to and shows the menu in it, in 25 languages. You write and price the menu once, in your own language. Allergen names are the deliberate exception: they are never machine-translated, and come from hand-checked vocabulary for each language instead.

How it works

  1. Write the menu once, in your own language, with prices and allergens.
  2. The guest scans, and the menu opens in the language their phone is already set to. Nobody is asked to pick a flag first.
  3. Allergen names come from checked vocabulary for that language rather than from the translation engine that handled the description.
  4. The AI waiter answers questions in the same language, so a guest who cannot read your menu can still ask what is in a dish.

What you get

  • 25 guest languages, detected from the phone rather than chosen from a list.
  • One menu to maintain. Change a price in your language and every language changes with it.
  • Allergens are never machine-translated, which is the one place an automatic translation would be dangerous rather than merely clumsy.
  • Your team does not need the language. The guest reads, asks and orders without a member of staff having to translate at the table.
  • Dish video carries across languages on its own, because a picture of the plate needs no translation at all.

Where this is the wrong answer

Automatic translation is good, not perfect. A dish name that is a local joke, a regional cut of meat, or a family word will come out flat in another language, and that is worth a hand-written description rather than a shrug. The translation also does not change the food or the service: a guest who feels looked after in their own language and then waits twenty minutes for water has still had a bad evening.

Questions people actually ask

Does the guest have to pick their language?
No. The menu reads the language the phone is already set to and opens in it. A guest who wants a different one can change it, but nobody is stopped at a list of flags before they have seen a dish.
Do I have to write my menu in 25 languages?
No. You write it once, in yours. The other languages are produced from that, and a price or a dish you change is changed everywhere at the same time.
Which languages are the marketing pages themselves in?
English, German, Spanish, French and Italian. The guest menu is the part that runs in 25, because that is where the languages are actually needed.

See it with your own menu

Upload the menu you already have and look at the result before deciding anything. A photo or a PDF is enough.
